Researcher Li Qi Attend 2011 CSLF Technical Group Meeting in Canada

On May 18 to 20, 2011 CSLF(Carbon Sequestration Leadership Forum)Technology Group Meeting is held in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Government officials from member countries, expert representative and another 50 delegates from nongovernmental organization, relevant enterprises and international institution such as GCCSI, IEA GHG have attended the meeting. Researcher Li Qi, from IRSM(Wuhan), CAS, present at the meeting as one of the delegation members from China. 

The meeting is jointly hosted by Professor Trygve Riis, Technical Group Chair, Norway and Doctor John Panek from CSLF Secretariat. The meeting listens to Secretariat's report about CSLF Strategic Plan operation, CSLF Technology Roadmap update and CSLF Recognized Project evaluation process; reviews and approves 2010 Minutes from Warsaw Meeting; discusses and recognizes three new projects applying for CSLF; listens to Gorgon Project Presentation from Australia and Quest CCS Project Presentation from Canada, they are Progress Reports from CSLF-Recognized Projects: Key Challenges regarding Risk Analysis, Liability and Permitting; the meeting also discusses about 2011 CSLF Ministerial Meeting in Beijing and draft Technology Group Agenda.

The meeting also arranges interaction and discussion on recent CCS technology development in some member countries. Before the discussion, many Task Force Meeting such as Projects Interaction and Review Team (PIRT) Meeting and Risk Assessment Task Force (RATF) Meeting are also held. After the meeting, delegations are arranged a visit to oil capture field in Shell of CSLF-recognized Quest CCS Project.
