On Jan 28, the application meeting of Natural Science Foundation of China(NSFC) is held in Institute of Rock and Soil Mechanics (IRSM).　

Scientific Research Department introduces the application, first review and support of Natural Science Foundation of China in 2012, the application policy and notices in 2013 is emphasized in the introduction. Review experts and winner of NSFC, ZHENG Hong and YANG Chun, are present at the meeting to join in the experience communication. The two winners summarize their application experience, they introduce key points in NSFC application, and discuss about questions asked. Deputy Director SHENG Qian analyzes advantages and disadvantages of IRSM in NSFC application, he hopes that researchers could fully use the current scientific research platform and optimize the research team.

Deputy Director KONG Lingwei sums up at the end of the meeting, he says that NSFC is the key source of basic research projects of IRSM; joint effort is needed in the application. KONG hopes that researchers could have an early preparation to win more supports from NSFC.
