The program Characteristics and Protection of Blasting Rock Dynamic Disaster in Nuclear Power Projects proposed by researcher LI Haibo from IRSM wins support from Key Program of National Natural Science Fund. The Program wins fund of 3.69 million.

Nuclear power construction is a key policy in national energy construction. The domestic nuclear power stations choose intact rock mass as the main building base; the foundation is excavated by blasting. The evaluation and control of dynamic disaster in rock mass blasting, and accurate analysis of blasting vibration transmission rule are the engineering problems in blasting excavation projects. The program is based on nuclear power projects in Guangdong and Shandong, several methods including indoor test, field test, theory analysis and numerical simulation are combined in the research. Researchers put forward rock dynamic damage model and dynamic damage judgment basis, announce characteristics and evolving rules of rock mass blasting dynamic damage. The impact mechanism of blasting method, geographic and geomorphic conditions and joints to blasting vibration wave transmission is also researched in the program. By setting up rock mass blasting vibration analysis and prediction model, the program provides technology support to nuclear power projects and other project construction in China.
