Evaluation Project of Salt Mine Land Subsidence and Disaster Passed Appraisal

On April 9, the project hosted and accomplished by IRSM, Evaluation Technology of Land Subsidence and Disaster of Salt Mine Underground Storage Cavern Group and Gob Area, passes the science and technology achievement appraisal. The appraisal is organized by Science and Technology Department of Hubei Province, the appraisal committee consists of 7 experts including Academician ZHANG Chuanyong from Huazhong University of Science and Technology.

Different from researches on land subsidence caused by other underground exploitation and project, there are not many in depth researches on land subsidence and disaster caused by Salt Mine exploitation. A complete system and specialized guiding regulations need to be set in relevant researches. According to technology problems above, the project focuses on surface subsidence triggered by salt rock solution mining, ground settlement during the operation period of salt rock gas storage, and relevant theories of mining area safety evaluation.

Drawing on the experience of theories and methods of alley mining subsidence forecast, the project introduces mechanics parameters, and puts forward new probability integral 3D forecast model about salt rock solution mining subsidence. By introducing Mogi model, researchers build forecast mechanics models for salt mine land subsidence, enriching forecast theories and methods. Through long-term monitoring of land settlement in gas storage group of salt rock, the project finds out the influence scope of land settlement in gas storage group of mining area. Basing on fault tree analysis method, researchers build risk loss evaluation index system of land settlement, putting forward environmental safety evaluation technology and method of buildings in salt mine underground storage and gob area. The research achievements are already successfully applied to many salt mines.

After listening to the research report of the project, experts from the appraisal committee come to an agreement after discussion. They agree that the the research achievements include environmental effect evaluation of sale mine exploitation and salt rock underground gas storage; safety evaluation of surface construction; safe exploitation and scientific layout of salt mine resource and gas storage group; monitoring and regulation of operation safety in storage group and salt mine saline well; surface land resource utilization in salt mine area and environment remediation in mining area. Experts believe that the achievements have achieved international advanced level, especially the land subsidence forecast technology of salt mine solution mining.
