On March 28, , the project The Catastrophic Mechanism, Control Technology and Engineering Application of Landfill Operation Process of Wuhan Rock and Soil Mechanics Institute, passes the science and technology achievement appraisal. The appraising conference is organized by Hubei Provincial S&T Department, and the appraising committee consists of 7 experts.

The catastrophic mechanism and control technology of landfill operation process is the focus and difficulty in the international field of environmental geotechnical engineering. With the continuous development of the city and economy in China, the demand for landfill construction and operation safety evaluation is increasing.

The Catastrophic Mechanism, Control Technology and Engineering Application of Landfill Operation Process focuses on the systematic research on key technological problems in catastrophe and control of landfill operation process; the project raises a series of new theory, methods, equipments and technology about landfill catastrophe formation, outbreak, development, evolution and control. The project research achievements have tackled multiple major catastrophe and engineering difficult problems in landfill operation process, they also put forward a series of new technique, method, equipments and technology, which have been successfully applied in more than 10 typical landfills in China.

After hearing the research report and address inquiries to relevant questions, the experts from appraising committee come to an agreement that, the ecology safety of landfill is the major demand in national environment and safety field, the achievements of this research project are providing many national and industrial standards, they win multiple intellectual properties. The achievements are already applied successfully.
