The Founding Conferene and the Frist Meeting of Compilation Team of Surface Deformation Monitoring Standard in Geological Hazard (Standard) is held in Wuhan on Jan 21. Leaders and compilation team members from Institute of Rock and Soil Mechanics (IRSM), Shenzhen Gongkan Geotechnical Engineering Co.,Ltd, Changjiang Geotechnical Engineering Corporation (Wuhan), Sichuan University, China University of Geosciences and Zhejiang Huadong Construction Engineering Corporation are present at the conference. The conference is hosted by Researcher CHEN Shanxiong from IRSM.

Deputy Director SHENG Qian reads an address of welcome on behalf of IRSM, he expresses thanks to the supports from compilation members. SHENG says IRSM will provide service to the Standard compilation in many ways, and accomplish the compilation with mutual effort from all compilation members.

Researcher CHEN Shanxiong elaborates on related conditions and outline of the Standard compilation, he points out several key problems needed to be solved on the conference, including Standard compilation framework, task division and schedule.

Compilation team members deeply discuss the outline, content framework, key and difficult problems of Standard compilation. A framework draft is formed after the conference, the schedule and working outline are also determined after discussion.

According to requests in working outline, compilation team members will cooperate according to the task division, play active role to accomplish compilation with high quality in time.

To promote the healthy development of geological hazard prevention project industry, Ministry of Land and Resources publishes Announcement about Compilation and Revision of Geological Hazard Prevention Industry Standard. According to the Announcement, Surface Deformation Monitoring Standard in Geologic Hazard is included in the industry standards. According to another Announcement of Determining Compilation Organizers of Geological Hazard Prevention Industry Standard published by China Association of Geological Hazard Prevention on Dec 6 in 2013, IRSM is selected as the chief editor of Standard.
