Research Project of Hard-Rock High Press Servo True Triaxial Apparatus Accepted

Lately, The major research project of scientific research equipment Hard-Rock High Press Servo True Triaxial Apparatus undertaken by IRSM(Wuhan), CAS is accepted by experts organized by Bureau of Planning and Finance, CAS  

Before the acceptance meeting, the expert group have an on-site technical test about the equipment performance and index according to relevant regulation. After listenning to the work report, finance report, user report and test report from testing expert group; checking equipment operation on-site, documentaries and financial account, the expert group jointly consider that this project has proper technical route, effective organization and management as well as complete project technical documentary; the project accomplishes the four kinds of technical index, among which the permeability measurement range and system servo responding time precede evaluation index in the task document, therefore, they agree with the acceptance. In view of the scientific significance and potential value of this apparatus, experts suggest CAS to keep on supporting the future work of this project, develop and improve the equipment function, enhance system stability and promote equipment industrialization.  

This research project started in October, 2008, it is hosted by researcher Feng Xiating of IRSM(Wuhan) and partly contributed by researcher Li Xiaochun. Large-Depth is a feature of current rock project in our country, to reveal the rock deformation failure mechanism and catastrophe under the condition of deep bury and complicated tectonic stress, the most effective experimental method is the true triaxial apparatus which could put and control the high-stress, high-deviatoric stress, high-osmotic pressure and stress paths of large-depth engineering rock. After implementing for two years, the project group successfully tackle the problems of sample installing, eccentricity and loading blank angle, using transversely placed slide type symmetrically loading structure as basis, adopting multi-orbit design, supported by rise-fall locating device, high rigidity framework and prompt responding servo control system. The project implements permeability test and true triaxial stress strain process for hard-rock, it brings significant application value to the fields of deep underground project, deep disposal of nuclear waste and geology seal of CO2.
