On 14th Jan, the National Scientific and Technological Award Ceremony is held by the The Central Committee of the CPC and the State Council. The Chinese Communist Party(CPC) and state leaders, Hu Jingtao, Wen Jiabao, Li Changchun, Xi Jinping, Li Keqiang attend the ceremony and award the winners.

Three achievements, primarily contributed by IRSM(Wuhan) CAS, win the Second Prize of National Scientific and Technological Progress. They are, Intelligent Feedback Analysis Method of Rock Mechanics and its Engineering Application, primarily contributed by researcher Feng Xiating, The Key Technology of Controlling the Coal Mine 1000 Meters Deep Rock Tunnel Stability and its Application, primarily contributed by researcher Liu Quansheng, The Quantitative Analysis Theory and Elaborative Control of Rock Mass Blasting Vibration Effect and its Application, primarily contributed by researcher Li Haibo.

Promoted by the Knowledge Innovation Program in our institute, we bear in mind the mission endued by our country and people, take the responsibility of "Meet the Essential Demand of the Country and Serve the Economy Construction," work hard, live plainly and be eager to take new challenges, by receiving hundreds of scientific research achievements, our institution is making distinguished contribution to Rock Mechanics and Engineering Discipline development and tackling the crucial problem of Geotechnical Engineering technology. We win 12 National scietific and technological awards in total since 2000, 7 of which were awarded as the primary contributor, 2010 is the year in which IRSM(Wuhan) won the most awards.
