According to the Notice about 2010 Hubei Provincial Industrial Technology Innovation Base Construction Plan from Provincial Science and Technology Department, Hubei Provincial Science and Technology Department approves construction of 22 industrial technology innovation base in Hubei. The construction period is 3 years, beginning from the day of notice release. Energy-Saving and Eco-Friendly Industrial Environmental Geotechnical Engineering Technology Innovation Base, supported by Hubei Provincial Key Laboratory of Environmental Geotechnical Engineering, IRSM(Wuhan), CAS, is one of the 22 approved bases. 

As one of the most industrial technology innovation platform in Hubei province, Environmental Geotechnical Engineering Technology Innovation Base of Envergy-Saving and Eco-Friendly Industry will mainly depend on Hubei Provincial Key Laboratory of Environmental Geotechnical Engineering, take advantage of the strength and leading role of IRSM(Wuhan), CAS, research institutes, university, geotechnical design institutes, high-tech enterprises in national geotechnical engineering technology innovation, build geotechnical engineering application basic research-technology innovation-industrial technology and industry-university-research alliance, form world-famous and domestic leading geotechnical technology innovation and industrial base, provide geotechnical engineering technology innovation platform to Wuhan-the capital of engineering design, offer technology support to regional environmental coordination and major project construction in China, especially in Wuhan and Hubei province, make great contribution to economy development of Wuhan and Hubei province.　　

Construction of Environmental Geotechnical Engineering Technology Innovation Base of Envergy-Saving and Eco-Friendly Industry will follow the principle of technology research independence and technology achievement industrialization, enterprise-oriented operation mechanism, market-oriented development direction.
