On September 14, the First China Periodicals Fair (CPF) opens at Wuhan International Expo Center in Hubei Province. CPF is jointly organized by the State Administration of Radio Film and Television (SARFT), the Peoples’s Government of Hubei Province and China Post. CPF is the only international and comprehensive periodicals trade fair in China. The title of the First CPF is Periodicals Makes Life Better, more than 10,000 periodicals from more than 40 countries are exhibited on the fair, attracting about 10,000 visitors. As the only candidate of Top 100 Science and Technology Periodicals in rock and soil engineering field, Chinese Journal of Rock Mechanics and Engineering(CJRME) is recommended to the exhibition on CPF. 5 editors of CJRME are present at the fair.

The First CPF releases results of Top 100 Newspapers and 50 Most Popular Periodicals. 12 newspapers from Hubei Province are selected as nominees of Top 100 Newspapers, ranking second in all provinces. 5 periodicals including CJRME are selected as nominees as Top 100 Science and Technology Periodicals.

Chinese Journal of Rock Mechanics and Engineering(CJRME) is first published in 1982, it is hosted by Chinese Society of Rock Mechanics and Engineering (CSRME) and organized by Institute of Rock and Soil Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IRSM). CJRME is a published periodical exhibiting the latest research achievements in rock mechanics and rock engineering field, it is retrieved by famous databases including EI and CSA. In 2012 the total cited frequency and the impact factors are 6571 and 1.434, ranking sixth in 1998 periodicals. CJRME wins awards including Most Influential Science and Technology Periodicals and Top 100 Chinese Academic Periodicals.
