In the field of theoretical study, researchers from IRSM have presented the rheology theory for geological mess. New research directions such as intelligent rock mechanics, dynamic construction mechanics had also been developed. Stimulated by the Knowledge Innovation Program of CAS, the basic study level of IRSM had been greatly enhanced. The study of mechanical behavior of geological mess, geoengineeing stability research had been kept up in a same level with the international colleagues, meanwhile, the ability of solving key technical problems in magnificent construction projects had also be improved. Recently, more than 10 achievements had be applied and played a important role in many significant engineering constructions, including hydraulic and hydroelectric engineering, mining engineering and transportation engineering etc.
