On April 20th, the First Alumni Symposium is hosted by Wuhan IRSM in Wuhan successfully. More than 200 alumni from home and abroad reunion in IRSM, they exchange research achievements and discuss about the future development of IRSM and rock and soil mechanism subject.

Professor DING Xiaoliang, YING Jianhua, CHEN Xiaoping and DENG Jianhui delivers lectures on Review and Suggestions for IRSM Future Development; Study on Constitutive Model, Geotechnical Test and Fiber Optic Monitoring Technology; Study on Slope Stability Based on Sliding Zone Shearing Characteristics; Discussion of Rock and Soil Engineer Quality.

In the afternoon, 22 lecturers give academic reports in two hall with different topics separately. Researchers from IRSM and other alumni discuss different topics about rock and soil mechanics and engineering technology.

In the morning on April 21th, researcher FENG Xiating, YANG Chunhe, professor LI Shucai, LI Tao, LI Zhangming, WU Bolin reports on different topics including Study on Intelligent Analysis Method of Rock and Soil Mechanics and Engineering; Review and Renew of IRSM; Prediction Theory and Technology Development of Bad Geological Condition in Tunnel, Elastic-Plastic Double-Face Dynamic Constitutive Model of Cohesive Soil, Several Basic Rock and Soil Mechanics Problems in Major Projects, Sand Production Prediction in Petroleum and Natural Gas Production.

Since 1981, Wuhan IRSM has enrolled 845 postgraduates, including 395 doctor students; and 56 post doctorates. The alumni contribute as the crucial bridge for IRSM to serve and communicate with the society.
