On May 20th, at the invitation of IRSM, who is from The Pennsylvania State University, Department of Energy and Mineral Engineering, visits IRSM and delivers an academic report with the title A Multi-Laboratory Evaluation of Micro-scale Gas Matrix Interactions and Its Impact on Gas Transport and Mechanical Properties. Seminar is hosted by Researcher YANG Chunhe, Researcher LI Yinping, Researcher DENG Shouchun attend the seminar.
In the seminar, Dr. Shinmin Liu introduces the development of shale gas in America, according to the experience of last decades, the development of shale gas is safe, next decades shale gas is also developing vigorously. Then he introduces the study on shale gas pore structure characterization, uses neutron scattering technique, measures the shale gas pole structure, and quantitatively distinguish between the opening pore and closing pore, it has great significance for hydraulic fracturing and capacity assessment. After the seminar, several teachers are interested in the method of using neutron scattering technique, they has indepth exchange of views with Dr. Shimin Liu, and hope to have cooperative research for multi-scale seepage problem of shale gas reservoir.
