On Apr. 7th, at the invitation of IRSM, Professor Chandrankant S. Desai, who is from the University of Arizona, and general secretary of International Association for Computer Methods and Advances in Geomechanics (IACMAG) visits IRSM and delivers an academic report with the title Geo- and Structural Mechanics, Disturbed State Concept(DSC) and Applications. As the honorary chief professor, Prof. Desai has been engaged in civil engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering materials modeling and experiment, and other related research work. He put forward the concept of DSC, and well known in the field of international geotechnical. In the report, from the perspective of philosophy, he presents the problems in numerical calculation of geotechnical engineering, and the origin of the concept of DSC and the application.
