From Dec.5th to 7th, Chinese Journal of Rock Mechanics and Engineering Chen Zongji Lecture in 2015 and Rock Mechanics Problems in the Exploitation of Deep Resources Workshop was held in Hongyi Hotel, Wuhan. The Workshop was hold by CSRME and IRSM, undertaken by Chinese Journal of Rock Mechanics and Engineering editorial department, co-host by State Key Laboratory of Water Resources and Hydropower Engineering Science (Wuhan University), CRSRI Key Laboratory of Rock Mechanics and Engineering, Jinan Haiwei Co. Ltd. There were more than 230 delegates from all over the country attended the workshop. Opening ceremony was hold by Professor Wang Mingyang, PLA University of Science and Technology, Director of IRSM Researcher Li Haibo represented sponsor and Researcher Feng Xiating represented CSRME to have speeches. The award ceremony included the most influential domestic academic papers in Chinese Journal of Rock Mechanics and Engineering in 2015, 2014 outstanding reviewing experts and 2014 outstanding paper, Academician Xie Heping, Academician Ge Xiurun, Academician Gong Xiaonan, Academician He Manchal and Academician Kang Hongpu awarded for the winners.

The workshop invited the famous geotechnical engineering experts Academician Xie Heping as speaker, delivered the report about research on the basis theory of deep resources exploitation, report profoundly pointed out the problems of deep rock mechanics research an future development direction. It was also invited Academician He Manchao and Professor Jiang Yodong delivered the reports. In addition, including Academician Kang Hongpu, there were 10 people had invited lectures. On Nov. 6th night, there was a meeting for the 8th editorial committee of Chinese Journal of Rock Mechanics and Engineering. The committee had a discussion for expanding domestic and international influence, leading the subject development, and next Chen Zongji Lecture's speaker.

This conference is an important meeting which represents the rapid development of deep rock mechanics research in our country, it is also represents the highest level of this field. Workshop has received 58 papers, the publication and supplement of Chinese Journal of Rock Mechanics and Engineering include 16 papers, the attendance also break the record of Chen Zongji Lecture.
