The 13th National Youth Rock Mechanics and Engineering Academic Conference and 30th Anniversary of CSRME was hosted by Youth Working Committee of CSRME, undertaken by IRSM, SKLGME, Engineering and Material Science of National Natural Science Foundation of China, Hubei Society for Rock Mechanics and Engineering, co-hosted by Youth Academic Committee of CSRME Geoenvironmental Engineering Branch, Professional Committee of Rock Dynamics and ground rock engineering and other units. From Nov. 20th to 22th, conference was held in Jianguo Hotel, Wuhan. There were more than 510 delegates, which came from China, America, France, Sweden, Japan and other countries.
Chairman of committee, IRSM Researcher Xue Qiang hosted the opening ceremony, Director of IRSM Researcher Li Haibo gave the welcome speech, Chairman of CSRME Researcher Feng Xiating attended conference and delivered a speech, director of Youth Working Committee Professor Zhang Zixin represented sponsors had a speech. In the opening ceremony, academician Qian Qihu concluded the 30 years development history of CSRME, and prospected the future development.
Conference had four parts: conference report, special reports, project reports, and forum. IRSM Researcher Feng Xiating, Shandong University Professor Li Shucai, Nanjing University Professor Li Xiaozhao, Tongji University Professor Zhang Zixin gave the lectures respectively. There were 12 experts delivered special reports, included Director-general of Engineering and Material Science Zhang Junwen, Liaoning Technical University Professor Wang Laigui, Tongji University Professor Xie Xiongyao, IRSM Researcher Zhouhui and other experts. A total of 68 representatives made project reports in 8 venues. The conference also hosted the work meeting of the new Youth Academic Committee and academic forum, elected next organizer of National Youth Rock Mechanics and Engineering Academic Conference.
The closing ceremony was hosted by IRSM Researcher Zhou Hui, awarded the best paper and the best graduates reports, announced Northeastern University would undertake next conference.
