On January 15 to 16, 2010 Progress Exchange Meeting of 973 Program Deep Major Engineering Disaster Preparation and Evolution Mechanism and Dynamic Regulation Theory is held in IRSM. About 50 academic talents and postgraduate representatives from IRSM, CAS; Institute of Geology and Geophysics, CAS; China University of Mining and Technology; Shandong University; PLA University of Science and Technology; Wuhan University; Central South University and Sichuan University have attended the meeting. 

Many famous experts in this field are also invited to the meeting, including academician Qian Qihu, academician Bai Yilong, academician Ye Chaohui, academician Zhou Fengjun, academician Zheng Yingren, academician Xie Hepin, professor Lin Zongjian, professor Zhou Chuangbing. Doctor Yan Jinding, managing expert of 973 program, and director Zhang Hongxiang, managing expert of CAS are also present at the meeting, they appraise and guide the program research progress and implementation.

The meeting is hosted by academician Qian Qihu. At first, the chief scientist Feng Xiating delivers a speech introducing the general information of this program and research progress of programs in 2010. Afterwards, head of 6 programs, researcher Li Haibo, associate professor Zuo Jianping, professor Wang Mingyang, professor Li Xibing, professor Deng Jianhui, researcher Feng Xiating, report on the research progress and program implementation of their program separately. Experts in the meeting fully affirms the innovation of the research, and point out problems in the research process, raising precious suggestion and advice.

In the end, taking the research plan and summary report into consideration, experts appraise the program research from several aspects, including research innovation, contribution to general target of the program, fulfillment of annual plan assignment. The experts also put forward suggestion to research and implementation of the whole program, showing the direction of next step.

On Jan 16, researcher Zhou Hui, the Program Office Director, hosts a Program Member Exchange Meeting, the academic talents enthusiastically discuss about main suggestion and advice from experts. The Program Office has put forward specific requests to the next step of program implementation.
