National Rock Mechanics Special Workshop, organized by Rock Mechanics Professional Committee, CSRME(Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics & Engineering), co-organized by North-West Institute of Nuclear Technology Research, is held in Xi'an Garden Hotel, Shanxi Province from May 27 to 30. Academician Sun Jun from CAS(China Academy of Science), academician Lin Junde from CAE(China Academy of Engineering) and 48 scholars and experts from various universities, colleges and science research institutes, have attended this workshop. What's more, about 20 postgraduates from Xi'an University of Technology, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Air Force Engineering University, Xi'an University of Science and Technology have joint the opening ceremony and report meeting.

As the director of IRSM(Wuhan), CAS, chairman of Rock Mechanics Professional Committee, Researcher Li Haibo hosts the opening ceremony and delivers the opening speech. Zhou Gang, director of North-West Institute of Nuclear Technology Research, makes a speech of welcome. Academician Lin Junde also delivers an enthusiastic lecture. Professor Feng Xiating, president of ISRM(International Society of Rock Mechanics),expresses his warm congratulations and great expectation to the workshop. Academician Sun Jun, chief engineer  Huang Liuxing from North-West Institute of Nuclear Technology Research are also seated on the rostrum.
