The Institute of Rock and Soil Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, is a leading research institution in China, dedicated to the fundamental, strategic and pioneering research and technological innovation in Geomechanics and Geotechnical Engineering.Currently, our institute has more than 300 full-time employees, and is the host of a national laboratory, the State Key Laboratory of Geomechanics and Geotechnical Engineering. The institute is a vibrant place for professional training and academic exchange in China, and actively engaged in long-term academic exchanges and joint research with a number of prestigious universities and institutions around the world. As a great practitioner of rock mechanics discipline, the Institute has initiated and/or completed a large number of significant projects related to the design of sustainable infrastructure, the use of resources, the underground storage of fossil fuels and nuclear waste, and the geological disposal of solid wastes.

Currently, there are two opening positions. Recruited candidates are supposed to work in Professor Xia-Ting Feng’s group. Professor Feng is the President of International Society for Rock Mechanics (ISRM), the Chairman of the Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics & Engineering, and the Director of the State Key Laboratory of Geomechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, China.

Duties:
Conduct research as well as other scholarly activities.
Carry out administrative work related to ISRM.
Serve on facilitating the development of the research group.

Requirements:
A PhD degree from English-speaking countries, or A PhD degree with more than 4 years working experience in English-speaking countries.
With a solid background on Rock mechanics, engineering geology, fracture mechanics, mineral chemistry or relevant fields.
With effective verbal and written English communication skills.
Commitment to working with other members in the group.

Remuneration
Remuneration package will be driven by individual performance.
