At the invitation of IRSM, Dr. Jonny Rutqvist from LBNL attends Geotechnical Engineering Symposium and delivers a speech with the title TOUGH-FLAC Coupled Fluid Flow and Geomechanical Simulations Related to Geologic CO2 Storage in the afternoon on Dec 4. Dr. Rutqvist gives a brief introduction to Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) at the beginning of his report. He then continues with the specific illustration of stepes of THM multi-field coupling, TOUGH-FLAC simulation process, and geological mechanical problems faced by CO2 storage. With several engineering examples, he describes the process of CO2 storage simulated by TOUGH-FLAC. Dr. Rutqvist answers all the questions raised by the audience at the end of his speech.
