Professor Michael A. Hicks attends Frontier Forum of Geomechanics and Geotechnical Engineering and delivers a speech with the title Numerical Modelling of Soil Slope Reliability on Nov 24.
Professor Hicks begins with the introduction to random field theory and characterization method of geotechnical parameter randomness, he continues with the description of random field inversion method based on LAS, and illustrates the analysis method of slope reliability combining monte carlo, finite element and strength reduction. He also introduces the key points of Eurocode7 and show the application of MPM method in slope failure analysis.
Professor Michael A. Hicks works as the head of Geotechnical Engineering Department of Delft University of Technology; he has long been engaged in research on finite element calculation, sequential modeling, liquefaction of sand soil and strain localization. He has published more than 100 papers and books. As a famous expert in geotechnical field in Europe, Professor Hicks has organized plenty of international meetings.
