The early opportunity for CCS technology means safer and economical for large scale deployment, CO2 Source-reservoir matching and resulting cost curves for CO2 transport and storage provide a primary result for the economical judgement of CCS technology.
Overall results of this preliminary cost curve analysis indicate that the majority of emissions from China’s large CO2 point sources can be stored in these large DSFs at estimated costs of less than $10/tCO2. The results show that nearly 90 percent of the CO2 stored in this analysis from sources that were able to locate an available storage site.
In such project, IRSM researchers have investigated the technical and economical status of CCS technology element in China. The technical and economical elements include CO2 capture, Transport, injection and monitoring technologies. Several projects with early opportunities and the technical roadmap of CO2 storage technology is suggested for China.
