Co-operated with EURIDICE (European Underground Research Infrastructure for Disposal of Nuclear Waste in Clay Environment), IRSM now is performing the research on ‘Research on long term Hydro-mechanical behavior of the Boom clay’. The research will focus on Laboratory long term creep test on Boom clay; modeling of long term hydro-mechanical behavior of the Boom clay around laboratory HADES; back analysis hydraulic and mechanical parameters of the Boom clay according to field measurements using neural network method. Those reference experiences will not only help to raise the research level of China in such field but also will provide theoretical foundation for China’s own HLW storage project.
