The Research Councils of the United Kingdom (RCUK) set up their office in China in 2007 ---the first overseas office outside Europe, reflecting the growing importance of China as a research partner. The RCUK Office in China liaises with research support agencies to enable the funding systems in both countries to work more closely together, and so increase opportunities for UK-China research collaboration.
