The 14th International Conference of the International Association for Computer Methods and Advances in Geomechanics (IACMAG-14) is held in Kyoto, Japan on Sep 22. More than 300 experts and scholars from 20 countries and areas are present at the conference.

IRSM submits the bid to host IACMAG-2017 as the representative from China. IRSM is awarded the IACMAG-15 in the Board Meeting of IACMAG ended in the afternoon on Sep 24, beating Curtin University after bid report, board inquiry, roundtable debate and board member vote. The conference will be held in Wuhan in 2017, Tsinghua University serves as the co-organizer.

IACMAG is one of the most important international conferences in the international field of computer methods in geomechanics, it is held every 3 years. IRSM was the host of IACMAG-9 in 1997.
