Dr. XING Huilin from University of Queensland Visiting IRSM

Doctor XING Huilin from University of Queensland visits IRSM on July 22. He is the winner of Overseas Outstanding Youth Foundation of Natural Science Foundation of China.

The symposium is hosted by researcher LI Qi from IRSM. Doctor XING begins his speech with the introduction of campus view and different institutes of University of Queensland. He then focuses on the introduction of his research team and current work of the team. Doctor XING continues with the illustration of the reason and significance of multi-field coupling and multi-scale simulation. He also gives a brief introduction to the description of PANDAS program to um/mm-m-m/km-km. PANDAS uses the display algorithm to solve linear and non-linear problems, compared with commercial software in the market, PANDAS is faster and more flexible. Afterwards, Doctor XING introduces the theory of non-darcy flow; he compares the improved model and traditional model of Gas Transport with graphs.

Doctor XING mentions the microorganism technology in coal mining technology, analysis and examples based on graphs, stress field distribution in fault area, and effects between fault areas. He answers questions raised by students at the symposium. Doctor XING visits the State Key Laboratory and sees the test equipments of energy and waste storage after the symposium.
