Researchers from State Key Laboratory of Geo-mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (SKLGGE)of Institute of Rock and Soil Mechanics (IRSM) attend 11th International Conference on Analysis of Discontinuous Deformation (ICADD-11) held in Fukuoka from Aug 27 to 29. More than 150 representatives from more than 10 countries are present at the meeting.

ICADD is a series of international meetings held every two years, it has been held for 10 times. ICADD focuses on academic communication on discontinuous numerical  theories and applications of computational mechanics field. On the Fukuoka meeting, researcher ZHENG Hong from IRSM gives an invited report on Some Developments on the Numerical Manifold Methods, researcher JIAO Yuyong gives an academic report with the title Coupled Thermo-Mechanical and Hydro-Mechanical Discontinuum Models for Simulating Rock Cracking, the researchers introduce the latest research progresses on analysis method of discontinuous deformation, which win wild attention from international discontinuous deformation analysis field. Researcher JIAO Yuyong also host the DDA Session 4 of the meeting.

After the meeting, DDA Committee of ISRM discusses the next cite of ICADD-12. With the outstanding achievements, increasing international influence and experience of holding several large-scale international meetings, IRSM wins the right to host ICADD-12. Researcher JIAO Yuyong is invited to be the president of ICADD-12 Organizing Committee.

Before attending the meeting in Japan, researcher ZHENG Hong and JIAO Yuyong are also present at training course of 2013 ISRM DDA Commission as teachers.
