In the morning of March 26, at the invitation of researcher Li Xiaochun from IRSM(Wuhan), CAS, 18 experts specialized in CCS research hold the first working meeting about English-Chinese Dictionary of CCS Terms compilation. The meeting is hosted by researcher Li Xiaochun, Li Haibo delivers the speech of welcome as the head of IRSM.

Experts from The Administrative Center for China's Agenda 21, Wuhan Branch of National Science Library, CAS, 8 scientific research institutes and 6 universities are invited to the meeting. Researcher Li Xiaochun makes detailed introduction about project background, orientation, research progress, dictionary frame and working scheme first; afterwards, Li Guiju, assistant researcher of the project group, introduces entries collection, bibliometric analysis and entries classification in details.

Experts at present discuss enthusiastically on CCS dictionary project and propose valuable suggestion.

At the present time, CCS involves various subject fields, it is comprehensive and advanced, involving complex terms. Academy communication is strongly affected by the confusion of English terms interpretation and use. The correspondence of Chinese-English terms needs to be fixed and standardized. The compilation of CCS terms dictionary is an innovative basic project with great significance, it is also urgent and necessary. The compilation will also lay a base for further standardization of CCS terms, improve CCS popularization, citizen acknowledge, acceptance and promotion. In addition, it will guide the establishment and development of CCS subject system., strengthen collection and integration of CCS knowledge.
