Held by UNESCO(United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization), Chinese Academy of Cultural Heritage and Administration of Cultural Heritage of Chongqing, The First International Symposium of Underwater Cultural Heritage Protection is closed on November 26 in Chongqing. More than 80 experts, scholars and representatives of underwater cultural heritage field from 9 countries discussed on underwater cultural heritage protection on the symposium.

The First International Symposium of Underwater Cultural Heritage Protection is held in China Three Gorges Museum from Nov 24 to 26. It is jointly organized by UNESCO, Chinese Academy of Cultural Heritage and Administration of Cultural Heritage of Chongqing, co-organized by National Underwater Cultural Heritage Protection Center of Chinese Academy of Cultural Heritage, China Three Gorges Museum and Chongqing Cultural Heritage Protection Center. During the symposium, experts from home and abroad discuss on underwater archeology, underwater cultural heritage exhibition and relics protection out of water, they also deeply communicate about Convention on the Protection of Underwater Cultural, underwater archeology practical experience from various countries, out of water relics protection technology, underwater cultural heritage exhibition technology and underwater cultural heritage protection concept. 

In order to let foreign experts directly understand the underwater heritage protection in China, the symposium invites academician Ge Xiurun, designer of Bai-He-Liang Underwater Museum, to deliver reports. Foreign experts are also arranged to visit Chongqing Fulin Bai-He-Liang Underwater Museum, academician Ge Xiurun and construction representatives answer questions which foreign experts are interested in, such as the protection concept and plan of Bai-He-Liang Inscription, museum construction, etc. Experts highly appraise the successful try of underwater cultural heritage protection in our country and underwater cultural heritage protection concept; all the 14 foreign experts commonly agree that, as the world's first culture site underwater museum, the original site preservation program of Bai-He-Liang hydrological inscription has great significance, it not only provides successful engineering example to original site protection of underwater cultural heritage, but also strongly improve the world-wide practice of underwater cultural heritage protection concept.
